Vegetation is an important component of the ecological environment, which plays an important role in water conservation, runoff regulation etc.. This paper takes Dezhou city Lijia'an irrigation Majia River Basin as the research object, 2 TM remote sensing image selection Majia River Basin in 2002, the same period of 2009, the normalized difference vegetation index based on NDVI, to extract vegetation coverage grade map, the vegetation cover change in the past 10 years basin is studied; analysis of the change of hydrological process of watershed vegetation coverage changes the relationship between basin; and hydrological process research, the main conclusions are as follows:
1 Lijia'an irrigation Majia River Basin in recent ten years of vegetation coverage changes. Low coverage area is substantially reduced, the proportion decreased from 19.3% in 2002 to 7.22% in 2008. The proportion of high coverage area increased significantly, increasing from 32.71% to 82.08%. The vegetation coverage has been greatly improved.
Good correlation between the 2 vegetation coverage change and precipitation, there is a negative correlation in the following vegetation coverage and rainfall, the correlation coefficient reached -0.949. The correlation coefficient, high coverage and precipitation is 0.976, higher correlation. With the increase of vegetation coverage, the precipitation will increase.
There is a good correlation between the 3 precipitation and runoff, along with the increase of rainfall, river runoff will be increased; the reduction of the vegetation cover of annual runoff, increasing vegetation coverage can reduce runoff, so that more water preserved.
This study shows that, increase in vegetation coverage can increase precipitation, reduce runoff, prevent soil erosion and improve the ability of regional water conservation, effectively alleviate the problem of shortage of water resources in river basin.
