前面都是the place后面的定语从句和place前面是否有in 没关系 ，
主要看place 在定从中 的作用 作主语宾语是用that或which .
作状语时 用where或in which
如this is the place where i was born.
i work in the place where my father worked.
this is the place that we visited last year.
i put the books in the place that you went to yesterday.
还有就是 you should try the one in the town————we went last week
这个填where
。we went 后面不少宾语，went 是不及物动词 不需要 宾语。
如果用that的话，后面应该是we went to.
我感觉不少啊，因为where就是先行词，后面的这一句就是修饰这个词的
