1902年4月，英格兰北部还是乍暧还寒，诗人华兹华斯又和友人来到湖畔漫游。这天风有点大，水波粼粼。他们惊喜地在树下发现几株黄水仙，接着往前走水仙越多，直到他们走到一个湖湾，面前的情景让他们惊呆了：狭长的湖湾恍若无边，却铺满了无数黄水仙，水波涟涟，水仙摇曳，如满天星闪。华兹华斯回去后，不久就写下了这首名诗：《我孤独地漫游，像一朵云》。
