【Abstract】This paper analyzes the meaning of internationalization of RMB, the historical process of RMB internationalization and the three steps that the internationalization of RMB needs to go through : peripheral settlement currency, regional investment currency and international reserve currency. The obstacles facing the internationalization of RMB needs to be put forward, then analysis of the obstacles must be conducted through microcosmic, macro and international view points.
