Dear audience,

It is my honor to present this speech today. China is the largest developing country, and it is catching the attention of the world today. The fast growing economy has lead to the following questions: what has causes this speedy growth? And where is China heading to in the future. My topic today is the effect of Global Economic development and the role of WTO on China's future.

China has been a member of WTO since 11 December 2001. Joining WTO is a very important event for the development of China at the beginning of the 21st Century. This important event is preceded by the establishment of permanent normal trade relations with the United States in 2000, twenty one years after the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries. These two events are significant because they mark the Chinese economy coming of age as China is recognized by the United States and the world economic community as an equal partner. They also signal the continued forward movement of the economic globalization process. China has become an important member of the world economic community and plays an important role in the global economy.
