I am glad that I can help you with your parents' trip to my hometown. About their living place, many hotels in my town are very good. The one that I suggest to you is Peace Hotel (or Heping Hotel). The attendants' service is first-class and they speak proficient English. With the room at ninth or tenth story, your parents can view the beautiful city in the room. Our city is very beautiful and unique at day and night. The hotel provides various touring in and around the city. On the down side, the hotel is located in downtown with lots of traffic and some noise. Hope that this recommendation is helpful to you. 
If you don't mind, I can come to the airport and drive your parents to their hotel.
