I think as a spouse, you can't directly have the Hong Kong ID. This is almost the same thing apply to you when you immigrated to Canada. You need your husband as a Hong Kong citizen to "sponsor" you to Hong Kong. This means application and approval !! In other words, you can't obtain the Hong Kong ID in Canada. Of course, your kids are another story, they could get Canadian citizenship card and Hong Kong ID automatically.
