The majority of students are in favor of the idea of surfing the internet.They believe it convenient to communicate with others on it and they can use their time as they wish. What's more, by surfing the internet, students can aquire the latest news from home as well as abroad. Besides, their spare time activities can be widely enriched.
However, a few students are against such things. In their opinion, rather than trying to learn knowledge,most of the internet goers are playing computer games on it,which is a waste of time and money.Some students they even drop off from classes to go to internet bars.So they argue that the time spent on the internet should be strictly limitted.

Should students surf the internet?
Today our class had a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of the internet.
Some students think it’s good for students to surf the internet. As we know,it’s an information age nowadays, and as a result, the computer plays a very important part in our daily life. On the computer,we can do lots of things. We canget the useful information,communicate with our friends,watch movies ,replay our favorite matches,and the most important is that we can know what’s going on in the world every day.
However, other stuents disagree. In their opinion,it’s harmful to surf the internet.first of all,there are some bad things on the net,which has a bad affect on the children’s growth. Besides,playing computer games too much makes students tired in class and it’s bad for their eyesas well.what’s worse,some stdents cannot control themselves and are addicted to the computer games,which makes them tired of study.
Of course, every coin has two side.personally I think Internet is a very available(有用的) tool(工具) for people,if students can use it to know more knowledge and solve problems ,students can benefit a lot from it .So ,I think students should use it in a good way

However,people's opinions are still divided on this point.Those who are in favor of the Internet claim that it has a lot of advangtages. Firstly, information searching is no longer a tough job with the help of all kinds of search engines.Secondly, we can contact friends or business partners via e-mails or software such as Internet Meeting and Yahoo Messenger.
Those who are opposed to the Internet hold that its disadvantages are numerous.They are afraid that increasing young people are indulged in online games and unhealthy information, which are extremely harmful to their development.

The Internet has its advantages and disadvantages, it is a kind of modern equipment, so that we can learn more knowledge, and playing the game still can make people intelligent.
But if we don't abstemious, will let us too addicted to the computer games. Online to make friends, and communication is frequent, still can make of our record is getting worse. To this, I think, in the time we should not get to the Internet, should be good to our study, and the winter vacation during the summer vacation will be appropriate to relax.
