sub-categorization,次范畴化或子语类化；deep-structure /surface-structure深层结构/表层结构；X-bar theory，X阶标理论。都是生成语法的基本术语。

sub-categorizaton：the information about word's complement is included in the head and termed subcategorization.(简单中文解释：中心词的补语）
deep-structure：formed by the XP rule in accordance with the head's subcategorization properties, is called deep structure.(句子中主语，谓语的正常语序）
surface—structure：corresponding to the final syntactic form of the sentence which results from appropriate transformations, is called surface structure.(句子语序已经过改变）
