Migrant older stands for a group who migrants with their children to cities and live with them without a local residency. As new immigrants in cities, the older feel disoriented to the society and can’t adapt to the new life well. With the acceleration of aging population and increasing of floating population, the number of those elder has risen rapidly. The problem how to guarantee their life qualities, especially psychological health, in strict household registration system has demanded prompt solution for the public and governments.
The study elaborates on the issue of social integration of the oldpeople and solution of this problem. Except the introduction, there are four parts. Chapter one analyzes the difficult position that the old have to face on and the conditions of social needs through the empirical research in X community in Shenzhen Province. Chapter two is based on the perspective of comparative advantage, stating the measures using social work in practices and the complete process of the individual cases. Chapter three makes an assessment and a reflection of social work and sums up the experience. Chapter four gives a lesson to how to promote the adaption of the old and presents ideas and suggestions. The article elaborates that social work will help the old toreconcile themselves to life and increase the capacity to a new life.
