能级跃迁时,光子能量大的吸收光的频率越大。
电子跃迁所需能量需要对应频率的光子,即对应能量的光子.当电子总能量能量小于0时,能谱为量子化,那么电子吸光只能是量子化的,吸收后跃迁,其状态是受库仑场的束缚态.当电子总能量大于0,那么电子可吸收连续的能量,此时电子的动能足以挣脱库仑场的束缚离开原子成为电离态.后者的吸收不光是一般的可见光,甚至电磁波、热辐射都可使原子发生电离.
