Environmental Protection on Campus
As we all know, environmental protection has been increasingly popular nowadays. Society has put many policies into action to make improvements in the environment that we human beings live in. Colleges also have taken some measures, but far from enough.
We are always informed that some organizations and associations try their best to advocate for environmental protection on campus. They aim to make students aware of the significance and necessity of daily behavior. For instance, they arrange for students to watch documentary films on environmental protection so that they can learn why and how to behave. Moreover, they promote separation of wastes into different types according to different uses and materials, to help recycling. They also conduct experiments on the lakes and streams around the campus to see to what degree water has been polluted. As a result, based on such investigation, it can be more convincing to call upon others to devote themselves to preserving the environment.
As one of the environmentally-conscious college students, I'd like to give some suggestions to all concerned.
Dos:
* save water;
* save electricity;
* pick up waste wherever you find it;
* sweep and clean up the campus every day;
* keep your feet away from grass;
* take your dining utensils to where assigned;
* throw different rubbish into assigned bins;
* dispose wastes, especially poisonous ones like batteries in a proper way;
* plant flowers and trees as much as you can.
Don'ts:
* throw waste everywhere you want;
* leave lights on and water dripping after leaving the room;
* dirty communal facilities;
* buy unnecessary clothes;
* use disposable chopsticks, disposable paper/plastic cups/plastic bags;
* copy or print unnecessarily.
I wish with the concerted efforts of all those who have great concern for environment protection and for the future of human beings, we will live a better, healthier, safer life.
