Melissa Smith (born June 4, 1985) is a Canadian pop singer, actress, choreographer and model. She is most known for her reality TV appearances on Making The Band 3 and Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll. She is now a solo singer signed to 4847 Records and also focusing on acting.

Melissa Ann Smith was born on June 4th, 1982 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her family later moved to Rochester Hills, Michigan. She is Canadian-Italian. She began figure skating at the age of 3, and at age 5, started gymnastics. From then, she progressed into dance. She Attended Deborah's Stage Dance Door Performing Arts Academy, and went on to become a solo dancer, as well as dancing in groups. At the age of 12, Melissa starred in a Christmas Extravaganza as a Singer. This led her to regional and national titles in song and dance competitions. She was cast as the lead in on-stage productions like "Cinderella", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Cabaret". She also is a model, and at the age of 16, she won 2nd place at a National Miss Photogenic Competition. This brought her into the modeling industry.

At the age of 18, she auditioned for the girl pop group, "Goddess", and became the lead singer. She was signed to a production deal with Interscope Records, and made her first solo demo. She has made three independent films, playing the lead and appeared in the feature film High Crimes in an uncredited role. She has guest starred on TV shows like Happy Family, Rodney and Grounded for Life. She also starred in the unaired WB pilot Prep. She has appeared in The Black Eyed Peas Instant Def webisode, music videos for Celine Dion and JC Chasez whilst appearing in many commercials. She has done promotional modeling for Miss Fitness, Detroit Automotive Show, Sports By Brooks, Microsoft, Xbox, Sketcher and Dickies Girls.

She had a small supporting role as the bitchy high school student Melissa in the 2004 film The Hillz. Jesse Woodrow noted on the DVD commentary of the film that Melissa invited him to church during the movie but he wasn't a Christian so didn't go. He then said he'd since become a Christian and remembered that moment with her. Melissa entered the second season of MTV's Making The Band 3 hoping to get into the final band, whom would eventually be Danity Kane. She made the final eleven girls but when it came to the finale of the show she wasn't chosen as a member of the band. It was between Smith and Aundrea Fimbres but when it came down to the finale, Fimbres made the cut. She appeared alongside best friend Aubrey O'Day in a Celebrity Edition of Exposed. She then took part in another reality TV show called Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll in which she competed to become the next member of The Pussycat Dolls. She made several bottom two appearances but also won many challenges. She was the sixth contestant to be eliminated and the 3rd runner up. She went on to host the Detroit auditions for Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious for CW 50.

Most recently after failing to get into Danity Kane and The Pussycat Dolls on the reality TV shows Making The Band 3 and Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll she has become a solo singer, working with producer Rex Rideout and released her first single I Believed on iTunes on June 10th 2008 [1]. She talked about her music on the web show The Bad Ass Frank Show. Her song Lost In Love is featured on the 2008 compilation album Soul By The Pound from Fluid Music USA Inc[2]. She then landed a lead role in an action movie starring and directed by Dolph Lundgren called Command Performance in which she plays Venus, a big music star who becomes hostage after a Moscow charity concert turns bloody. Her song Lost In Love will also feature in the film. She had also auditioned for a role in the fifth Bring It On movie but it clashed with the filming of Command Performance. She guest starred on Slavi's Show to promote the film. Command Performance will premiere at the Ischia Film Festival on July 19th 2009 and is then scheduled for a DVD release on November 3rd. She recently auditioned for the Fox sitcom Brothers.
