Homer is a greak ancient Greek epic poet often compared to Shakespeare. He is the author of two greet epic poems, the Iliad, and the Odyssey. However, little is known about his life, about which only unreliable legends and myths can tell us. One thing we know is that he was born in Smyrna. Although his age was doubtful, it must have been well before the year 776 B.C.
